Twelve years on moving trucks. Now I write about them.
Former crew chief. Roughly four hundred household moves logged. Bylines at Moving Crews; newsletter at Notes from the Truck.
About
I started on moving trucks at twenty-three as a green helper and finished at thirty-five as a crew chief. I left the road in 2019 because my back asked me to, politely, and then less politely.
I now write about the moving industry from the consumer side. The pieces below are the work I am proudest of: plain-spoken procedural writing about hiring movers, avoiding the bait-and-switch, and reading a bill of lading without having to call a lawyer.
I do not accept guest posts, ghostwriting, or industry-funded placements.
